About Deidre

Counselling and Psychotherapy

I am an experienced and accredited Psychotherapist with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP).  I have over 13 years experience in the field of counselling and psychotherapy gained in private practice, the NHS, primary education and with employer assisted programmes.

I trained as an Integrative Arts Psychotherapist at the Institute for Arts in Therapy and Education and I have also been a visiting lecturer at the Metropolitan University and a Professional Advisor for YoungMinds (a charity fighting for children and young people's mental health). I am able to offer a professional and confidential therapeutic space to enable you to begin to make sense of your experiences, and to help facilitate the changes that you may want to make.

I am an experienced and registered Supervisor with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). I offer clinical supervision to individuals, teams and groups who are seeking to discuss and reflect on their clinical work. My approach focuses on a strong emphasis towards the creative process and I will draw on creative action methods in exploring practitioners theoretical, ethical and clinical practice.  I work with trainees and qualified practitioners.

I also offer training and workshops on themes relating to counselling and psychotherapy. These events can be tailored according to the needs of the organisation and/or participants. My fees for such events can be discussed on enquiry.
